Hello my beloved Canoeists ! Its been a long time since this blog was updated !

So, here i am, updating this blog with lovely new 2011 songs !

Anyway, its only about 8 days left to nationals . I hope you guys have all been training hard the past few weeks/months/years !

Next week, Tuesday, 12 April 2011, its time for you guys to THRASH all the other schools !

Show them that GESS Canoeists are not to be dealt with lightly !

Prove to them what it means to have 'the spririt of the fighter'

& Lastly, believe in your potential, ur partner, ur crew & ur teammates that you all HAVE WHAT IT TAKES to be a CHAMPION .

Always remember, TOUGH TIMES do not last, TOUGH PEOPLE do !

Train hard for these last few trainings, and i will be seeing all of you competing in the finals during nationals okayy ! Dont let me down okay ! :D

Xmas Outing 2010

HELLO AWESOME CANOEISTS !

As you all know, we have an Xmas Outing coming up ! Here are the confirmed details for the outing . We hope that you will cooperate fully with us to make this outing/event a successful one ! :D

Date : 26th December 2010 .

Time : 2pm - 7pm .

Venue : Sentosa, Siloso Beach .

* Please take note that this outing is a POT LUCK outing which means that you HAVE TO BRING your own FOOD & DRINK . Each person is subjected to bring AT LEAST a BIG packet of CHIPS/BISCUITS & a 1.5L BOTTLE of DRINK . Other food such as SANDWICHES, FRIED NOODLES, etc are allowed as long as its halal . Thankyou .

So, here is the whole schedule for the day .

1pm - All to meet at VivoCity Top Level for attendance taking before boarding the Monorail . Please inform any of the captains if you are coming late so as not to waste time waiting aimlessly . Do bring along at least $3 for the boarding pass .

1.20pm - Depart for Sentosa . Strictly no waiting . Be on time . If not, too bad for you (:

1.30pm - Reach Sentosa & move to our location . Dont worry, seniors will lead you there .

1.45pm - Settle down and do a headcount .

1.50pm - You will be split into groups for THE GESC's AMAZING RACE .

2pm - 5pm - THE GESC's AMAZING RACE .

5pm - 7pm - Free time for you to WASH UP, go for a swim, play with friends, etc . Please go for a shower during this time okayy :D

7pm - Exchanging of gifts commence !! Photo taking sessions also commence ! :D

7.30pm - End of outing .

So, that is our planned day for the outing . If at any point of time, you feel hungry or you have to leave, inform your group IC or any of ur captains . Thankyou . If you have any queries, you can sms Eryanah or Shi Ying . If you dont have their number, ask from your seniors okayy ? (:

Hahah, guess i'll try to talk abt the farewell party to get the blog 'alive'.Well,With regards to mr yim's farewell party, the dates and venue would be confirmed once again with you all in the following posts.=]
Meanwhile, here are the dates and venue we most probably would be deciding..

Date: -must be before the fasting month.
-or,during fasting month but after the break of the fasting on the day itself.
Venue: -Must be HALAL
-if deciding to dine on weekdays, should be somewhere nearby, so that we do not need to waste time on the trip to the place after training or school.
-if deciding to dine on weekends, anywhere is alright as long as majority agrees.

well, as you all noe, the canoe gathering will be on this coming friday,11june. We'll be eating lunch at the sakura. Ms lim would be treating us($15 per person) but please bring along 6-10 bucks as we need to pay the remaining cost.

Hey GESS canoeists,

About the outing, the date is confirmed. It will be on the 11th of June, on a Friday. I need all of your help to decide 2 thing, the timings and the venue. Please tell me your preference and whether either by comenting on the blog, texting me or telling me during Mon training. If by Mon, you have not told me what you like, I will take it as you are not going or not count your vote so please tell me ASAP. I really need the co-operation of everyone.

Timings:
A) Morning - Afternoon (Lunch)
B) Afternoon - Evening (Lunch or Dinner)

Venues:
1) Seoul Garden (Marina)
2) Hans River (Simei)
3) Sakura International Buffet [For this, you will have to pay a price of about $6 or more yourself as it is not within the budget]

We are going to have a celebration outing to reward ourselves for all the HARD work we all put in for this year's Nationals.:D Sec 4 Seniors are of course included and graduated seniors are welcome to come too :) It will most probably on 7th of June. We want to get suggestions from all of you so if you have any ideas, please feel free to voice out. We are thinking of a beach outing and having a barbeque from late morning to the afternoon. What do you think? Please tell us ur ideas or whether you think this is a good idea. You can comment on it on tell us during trainings.>.<

We have many boats in the finals this year, but as coach has said, whatever you get in the heats or semi-finals is nothing. THIS is the real thing. THIS is the race that will determine everything.

I just want to say here to ALL the finalists. You are nervous, you are scared. This shows that you care about your race. Make sure every stroke counts. Make sure that you don't make silly stupid mistakes that can cause you everything. Make sure you win or you make your opponent die trying to win you.

Well, after MANY torturous and tiring trainings, NATIONALS 2010 are finally here.

And yes, this blog is DEAD. =/

And it will be buried when I graduate isit? =/

Anyway, NATIONALS first day is over!

This year is away from our beloved MR but it will be a good experience for ALL. The seniors shared many 'happy' memories in Nationals 2007. =)

hi peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepos. like what the previous post stated. NJCC 2010's over. Training camp's over too. let's see,how fast was that? it was really really fast. i mean like. we were there on the first day but it's as though in one blink,we were breaking camp.

memories have been sweet enough to be kept. i know. what's next on line?

So, i've been digging up my past folders and found our old canoe outing photos !

If im not wrong, it was a pre-competition outing at Hans River BBQ. Took place on 10th April 2009 @ night.

Well, looking at these photos really brings me back to the memories i've spent with the team . We were all so bonded back then.

Its really hard to believe that so much time has passed & before you know it, its your last year in GESS canoe sprint team.

Counting down to the days im left with the team made me realise that we shouldnt take things for granted, expecially the amount of TIME we have in terms of training, & bonding with one another. So , here are a few last words from Me! ~

When its time to train, forget everything else & just put in your 100% in training cause training means NOTHING if you attend it just for the sake of attending it!

Bond with EVERY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL despite their age, race, religion or character ! Dont keep hanging out with the same group of people just because you feel comfortable with them. You should break OUT of your comfort zone & get to know others more (:

So, i really hope that this post has created an impact to u on how important time is like how it has made an impact to me.

OKAY HELLO EVERYONE! sorry i'm writing in caps. but why am i writing in caps? BECAUSE I AM HAPPY! why am i happy? BECAUSE THE X'MAS GATHERING DETAILS ARE OUT!

ok,so here's the details:

venue: Sentosa
time: roughly from 9am-9pm
date:23rd Decemeber 2009

in depth details:

we'll be eating BREAKFAST, LUNCH and DINNER together. But it's optional for the team (besides lunch.unless of course you wanna starve yourself there-.-)
So for those going for breakfast, we'll be meeting at Harbourfront at 9am. We'll either be eating Delifrance or Fast food (which is bad for canoeists :D)
For those who are not meeting for breakfast, then meet us at 10am outside Delifrance. Then we'll go to Sentosa together.

What we are going to do there will be as follows: (i used a timeline of events so that's it's more organized, instead of someone going to watch the dolphins and another bugger going on the luge)

1.breakfast
2.(after reaching Sentosa) settling down. (trust me,we'll take some time to settle down)
3.BEACH!
4.lunch
5.BEACH AGAIN&SWIMMING
6.luge&sky-ride(optional)
7.split-up time! *please refer below
8.SPECIAL EVENT!
9.talk time&exchanging of x'mas presents

*for the split up time right. we're allocating like, a few hours for canoeists to do whatever they want. cause some RICH people (like haressh) may wanna go underwater world (WHICH WILL COST A LOT) while some people may wanna go roller-blading? and some may wanna still talk around more and such. so during that time,everyone break off and do their own things, then we'll rendezvous at some place for the SPECIAL EVENT! (which is planned by the organizing committee-HAHAH sounds so high-class)

I'm not sure if the teachers (or just Mr.Teo, cause Ms.Lim is STILL ON HER VACATION! very long lor,she so rich.tsk tsk.) are joining us. For now they aren't, we're gonna ask them and all.

Ok,most important part! Things to bring:

firstly, there are a few things i've learnt about the canoeists today- (anyway,for all the things i've learnt, I'M JUST KIDDING! so don't take it to heart) ready?

1.they dunno how to plan
cause the secret santa who-buys-who-what was supposed to be a secret right? but apprently everyone knows who's buying for who and all. which is kinda dumb ><" BUT, i don't mind :D lols,keep it a secret also not very important right?

2.canoe girls REALLY CANNOT PAINT/DRAW

cause! felicia SCREWED UP THE NEWLY BOUGHT PAINTY MARKER PENS! ok lah,it's only felicia :DD she dunno how to use the pen, then every single pen under her broke within 5 minutes. AND THEY'RE BRAND NEW! beat that!

3.canoeists are lazy

cause, they didn't do any banner this year! they used our banners last year D: which is good la,means our banner is pwetty :D lols but really lah.it's ok you all didn't do another banner ><" i kicked up too much of a fuss about this..

Hello peepos !
Im sure you guys know that there's gonna be an xmas outing going on rite ?
Well, for those who went for the outing last year, We're still playing the 'SECRET SANTA' game.
But there's a twist to it ! :D
Read on to find out .

How to play:
1. Firstly, the names of every canoeist will be written on a piece of paper.

2. The pieces of paper will then be inserted into two bags.

3. One for all the female canoeists. One for the male canoeists.

4. The bag containing the names of the male canoeists will be passed around the female canoeists.
The bag containing the names of the female canoeists will be passed around the male canoeists.

5. Then, each canoeist is to pick a piece of paper from the bag.

6. The piece of paper with the name of the person you pick will be the person you will have to buy a SECRET present for.

Rules of the game:
1. I understand that sometimes we will have this urge to reveal to our friends who we are getting the secret present for.
However, please try your best not to reveal to the person you are getting for.
(e.g. Nana is Kelin's secret santa. Nana has to get a present for kelin. But Nana must not reveal to kelin that SHE(Nana) is HER(Kelin's) secret santa.)
Can understand rite ? ><" Sorry, my english isnt very good.

2. Also, your present must be something that is worth MORE THAN $5 !

3. Lastly, please WRAP UP the present . Its more presentable that way & its just a nicer way of giving someone a present.

So, yea. Those are the info i can give about the game.

lols,i'm posting cause manoj asked me to. and i just realised i haven't submitted the krabi reflection thingy to mslim.. and i dunno what's the point of posting about the krabi trip. cause everyone (almost ><") experienced the same thing..

ok,anyway.in a futile attempt to keep this blog alive ><"

THE KRABI TRIP FREAKING ROCKED! and to me,it was (in a way) better than mount kinabalu, cause at least i kinda "completed" the trip.mount kinabalu was like my most wasted trip EVER. but both trips can't be compared that way.

they each allowed (haha,personification) us to experience different things. mount kinabalu was more of having that adrenaline rush and that kinda i'm-on-top-of-the-world and the so-shuang-cause-most-of-my-friends-don't-climb-mountains kinda feeling. then krabi was more like a seriously super bonding session. it's like, the paddling wasn't hard right? i mean, we paddle so often in mac ritchie, this is like peice of cake to us. so it's like we spent more time bonding like the singing songs and counting manojs right?

and is it just me, or does anyone else miss coconut home? (i know jazz does) i think most of us really changed during this trip. like,i don't think it's just haressh,the sec4s and the teachers that gave a WHAT-THE-**** expression when they say the accomodation.but in the end we could appreciate their home for more than what it's exterior looked like :D so,i think that's good. just hope that this appreciation won't die out just cause we come back to our RICH (haressh) and URBANISED home.

oh and another thing about the trip is that i'll miss the team more): it's like,whenever i look at the team it's hard to believe that i'm already secondary four.the time when we(my batch la) just joined canoeing then still playing with the water and wondering "wah, the sec4s so cool" were all like so recent. it's hard to believe that everything's already ended, my life in gess, my life in gess canoe sprint team and we have to move on in our lives. but i'm very thankful for the team. like the july 2008 onwards with just (this year's) sec2,3&4 was really the most fun time i've had in canoeing. we suddenly like BOOM, became super bonded. and it's like,i can see so much potential in all of you, wayy better than with any of us (my batch) haha,cause according to joonguan, we're the PIONEER BATCH.lols. but yea,continue to train hard. and i believe next year in the ncc/njcc/canoe marathon, we're gonna have a hellish time winning you all :D

i just wanna say i doubt i'll ever forget the team and everytime i look at our pictures, i'll remember all the good times we've had together :D

So yah today was our last training before we break for the final-year examinations.

Hello people
How was training today? I was damn shag after training. I think I'm like gonna fall asleep soon. Muhahaha.
Anyway, the attendance today was a bit of a disappoinment.
Namely, the sec 2 guys. I expected to see saravind, vincent, jamil and julian. Apparently, they have disappointed me.
Next, our training this friday would be like the last cos next week there is sports fiesta prelims and hence everyday after school there will be events going on. So MOST probably there will not be any training next week.
I hope to see full attendance from the team. Don't disappoint me again.
Happy? I hope not.
Also, this weekend is the woman's championship. Come down and support us if possible.

Do u all want like basketball on the days that we don't have training? It can be arranged. I just need to know who are interested. =)=) Let's see our dearest captain make unbelievable misses again. Muahaha.

Stupid H1N1

As you people know, that due to the stupid pig flu that has been spreading around Singapore, we have yet to resume training for the past 2 weeks.

Well, guess what, the ants will continue building the nest in our boats for another week. Why?? Cos training is still suspended for term 3 week 3.

This sucks. Seriously.

Anyway, in an attempt to get the LAZY bones of canoeists working again, I invited all to join me and my friends for a game of basketball at the newly indoor sports hall yesterday. Sadly, only like 10 came. But we still had fun right??

The highlights of the game yesterday:

When we first reached at 11.30am, we played 2-on-2. Jeyna and me vs Benji and KaiKin. The funny thing was we won!! Why?? BECAUSE EVERY BALL THAT BENJI SHOOT didn't GET IN!!

Damn funny I tell you.

Even if he is under the post, he STILL can't shoot it in!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA our captain is a NOOB at basketball.

BUT

during another match with the canoeists vs 3H people + ray from basketball team, almost all the shots that Benji shot went in!!

DRAGONBOAT competition this Friday at Bedok reservoir at I dunno what time for the Sec 1 and 2s. Go down if you want to support. I personally will go down.. IF I can wake up. Muahahaahah.

Sec 1s and 2s, feel free to come down for Saturday's training. Training nowadays is GREAT!! No more bursting!! Hehe.

What else?? Hmmm... Oh yah since I'm so bored, let's talk about today's tedious training. Okay I'm just bored I'm NOT complaining!!

I reached at like 7.40am today cos training starts at 8am. AND guess who was late.. AGAIN
I'm sure you all know the answer lah. Its the other Joon Guan. And since there was a lightning risk, we could only go down water at 8.45am. So we did PT!! YAY. 20 wide--20 crunches--20 calf raise--20 narrow--20 leg raise--20 squats--10 body builder. Why isn't that fun!!

Then we went down water and we did our programme. 12K!! Same as Monday!! Whee. Persis was damn fast today. Or maybe she was slacking other trainings. Muahahah. Then yah coach cap. Muahaha.

We did a lot of really fun things after that. Come down for training then I'll show you. Seriously its fun. This isn't sarcasm anymore. =)

Then yah all those who went down today owe coach 100 push-ups for various reasons that I'm lazy to type out here.

Oh yah we went to watch TRANSFORMERS. And its damn nice. Recommended to go watch!!

Remember to finish your homework. Holidays are ending soon. SO sad. D=

I think all of you should know the news about our ex-coach, Coach Chua Ee Tuck's death.
So, this post is to pay a tribute to him on all that he have helped us with.
For those who wants to post some words for him, do approach Nana or Kelin.
And the sec 3s are going to his wake tomorrow after school, pls do come along to pay your respects to him.

Tributes

Nana - Im really thankful to you for teaching me all the basics to paddling and stabilising the boat. Although you only coached me for 1-2 years, you made me increase my interest in canoeing and you were always so friendly. Always saying good afternoon and hello even though you are not coaching us anymore and im REALLY thankful that you even remembered my name. I really hope you will have a good afterlife and you will always be remembered.

Kelin - Thanks for everything you have taught us. Although you aren't our coach anymore , you were always friendly and kind towards us , saying "hello" and "goodbye" whenever you see us.. Im really grateful for all your help. I will always remember you and your friendly voice. THANKS alot for everything , you will always be etched in my mind...

Gordon - Rest in peace coach Chua.

Joel-thank you for everything mrchua. i could really see how much you cared about the team, even wanting to give the canoeists their one star cert even though you could easily void them. thank you for teaching me my strokes and to get me started on my canoe life, and for even giving me chances time and time again. i'll miss your friendly "hellos" and "byes" and your riding to mac ritchie on your bike. just like everyone else, i respect your training attitude and perseverance. i promise you i'll train hard! life at mac ritchie will really be different without you. i'll always remmber you mrchua, mayyou rest in peace.

Felicia - Thank you for everything Mr Chua. You didn't give up on us even though we were very lazy and undisciplined when we were sec 1s. The last thing you said to me was 'Well Done' during the NJCC competition, even though we didn't win a medal. We all will really miss your presence at MacRitchie. And of course, your friendly salutations. On behalf of all the sec 3s, we really thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your teachings and endless patience with us. Rest in peace.

heyy! why hasn't anyone posted for so long.. this blog is getting more and more dead D: anyway! the first training just started right! haha,heard you all did pull-uups and 6km paddling (or something like that) hahahahahaha. good luh,start training early and own the nats'10! don't be like this year, everyone get fourth and stuff, if not is lose out marginally to the other boats!

so yup.i doubt any of the seniors will be coming down for tommorrow's training as well. we are trying to study very hard for our chinese o levels! i'll come once that is done! :D

everything about the lunch still holds. maybe you've heard some rumour that we're changing the time/date, maybe you haven't. doesn't matter! forget it all! the details remain the same:

time:2-4pm (but we're allowed to stay later)
date:tommorrow! (15th may,yeah-.-)
venue:marina bay,seoul garden(to get there, the mrt is city hall)
dress code:ANYTHING NOT RELATED TO CANOE AND SCHOOL

so yes,please do come if you can make it! for the triple science-you all couldn't be excused. but if you all could rush down after your lessons you all still can eat! we'll take more food for your arrival :D (btw,at 4pm they'll take away the buffet food,but we can still sit around) so please try to rush down!

for those who can come on time;kelin is meeting people at tiong mrt at 1.30pm. so for those who can come,meet her there(cause she knows the place) if not just meet her at city hall mrt will do :D

ok,now the movie! there's confirm going to be a movie! and it's at gv marina.

hellooo again! well, the movie today was nice right? zac's the best<3 lol.
anyway, i suppose by now it's obvious that the gathering has changed to after the mid year exams. i know it was the pioneer batch that wanted to have the celebration so early, however. we realised that it's not very practical. for one:

-a lot of people can't make it due to their lessons
-haressh is sick! so he can't come(lol)
-the exams are coming so we won't be able to realy enjoy ourselves(need to always think about studies) for some of us(joonguan) at least, haha.
-then if we can't enjoy all the way, it won't be a very good celebration am i right? anyway, this one is a really reallyy important celebration so it must be the best :D
-we have to rush after school to be at seoul garden by 2pm

yeah, those kind of things. however, if it's after our mid year exams, we well can let our hair down(really really) then no pressure no nothing can really enjoy ourselves all the way. that's the rational for changing the gathering date. i'm sorry to those who were looking foward to the gathering.
but,i'm sure the mood will still be there. why?because our team is bonded-bottom line!

oh, and fyi. now the canoeing team rocks like hell! srsly, i've heard from my friends that they want to join the canoe sprint team now because it seems so fun! (ok, i don't really think it's 100% fun) but the point is that others are able to see us enjoying ourselves together as a team! that's really good :D

oh, and another thing. congrats to everyone who had their medals today! you've finally gained recognition for all the hard work you've put in! for those who are still in canoeing, work hard and next year-you'll be the ones getting all the glory! (oh,did i read too fast today?)

anyway, yeah. the gathering was fun today(: but at the start everyone was so stressed like 'ery, where's the money?! where's benjamin! collect ez-link cards, ARGH!'
like CHILL poeple, it's an outing, it's supposed to be fun, not so stressed! but in the end the movie made up for it!

good job everyone! we're into day3 of the nationals!
today was the semi-finals! and i'm proud to say gess had quite a few boats that qualifed for the finals! so the update of the poeple in finals:

LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF BOATS! last year we only had like 2 of our sec4 boats?! so what does this show? GESS CANOEISTS HAVE THE POTENTIAL! we've trained really hard this past and year and the results are clearly shown here! as i've said, our presence in the nationals have been felt, and that is really awesome!

however, there were many who fell short of getting into the finals, out of which mainly the b' divison boys-who all got 4th in their semi-finals(most of which we freakishly close to making it through the semi-finals) well, good job still! we've put up a good fight and a well-worth one! to the two sec4 boats who didn't make it, focus on your last event and win a medal, avenge ur K1 event! oh, let's not talk about the rest.. (LOL)

so all the best to everyone tommorrow! and the movie today was really great and sucktacular! lol, for those who went. here are some of the reviews (credit all goes to jiasheng):

gosh, i'm so free.. i'm like posting everyday, haha. anyway, once again:

THE CANOEISTS HAVE PAWNED AND OWNED!

really good job everyone! another 14 boats out of 24 boats qualified today for the next round of competition! that's seriously amazing! that's erm.. *counts* 58.3% the boats! (yes, i used a calculator-.-)which is seriously WICKED! now we have so many supporters, it's amazing! including recognition from other schools! as ms lim has said today-many schools have started to realise our presence in the inter-school nationals! i heard from our ex-senior, yuanzhen too, that many schools said that "gess this year very fast" and stuff like that. it's really very good recognition! so keep up the good work everyone! finally, after so long, gess will show to the other schools what we're made of!

i really believe the guys can do it this time, our team is really a lot stronger now and i suppose the results from the heats can prove that!

never before has gess had so many boats qualifed for the semi and finals! i really forsee gess having a great time at the prize presentation where there'd be a whooping amount of medalists!

and for those who didn't manage to get past today-don't give up alright! the team now is stronger than ever, however, if we keep this spirit up, next year you'd all come back AND SWEEP CLEAN THE EVENTS! since you didn't make it this year, train harder and doubly harder(and maybe harder again) for next year so you'd come and show everyone what you're made of! THEN, you'll have this real sense of achievement and accomplishment(:

for those who don't have a chance to compete again as part of the gess team, don't give up hope! there's always junior college(urgh,dunno how spell again) and polytechic! (erm.. ..) moreover, as coach said- the fighting spirit was extremely good and we've surpassed our own barriers and limits! we've gone the fastest we have ever gone and that is what really matters! we've all tried our best and put in our all, and RACED WITHOUT REGRETS! that's what really counts! so don't EVER be discouraged!

as for tommorrow, everyone work hard to all get into the finals! the ace schools like SJI and ACSI are ALREADY in the finals! (lol) so we shouldn't lose to the other boats in the semi-finals! let's all work hard and achieve a 22-boat crew in the finals! that'll really make history! everyone, push yourself hard tommorrow! it's just as crucial as any other day! finish it to the end and push yourself to the limits! never give up at nearing the finish line nor give up first place to take second!

today was superb! we now have a total of SIX boats in the finals and TWO boats in the semi-finals! this is the best results gess has EVER achieved in a long long loooong time! and it's only the 1000m events! there's still a big load to come tommorrow in the 500m events tommorrow-so don't give up everyone!

seriously, i'm very proud of the team! our first event (syafiq) ended up thrashing the other schools, and might i add-syafiq and yu chen, benjamin, felicia and kelin too all thrashed their event competitiors! this is really a first for gess. it's really a good feeling to see our boats come in so far in front, and really out of the events today, for EIGHT to get past the heats- it's really amazing! (btw, we only had about 12 events?) so that's really wicked! lol,i've said it so many times.

the team has really grown from last year-now almost everyone we send down, they get past. this year, gess will really prove to everyone what we are made of! in addition, i feel the team is more bonded, seriously. no more poeple in groups-now most of the canoeists mix around with one another, and even frequently go out for lunch and stuff :D that's really something heart-warming.

so, good luck to everyone tommorrow, continue to shine and prove to the other schools that we kick butt! we'll all make it, and we'll make it together as a team! TIME TO MAKE HISTORY! (lol)

for the dry clothing , it can only be GESS related clothes (PE or 2008 jersey ONLY.. no marathon shirt.. =( ).. and if your not competiting after u changed , u can wear dark shorts.. cuz we know tat u do not have enough gess shorts right =D
do not stay under the sun..
and for those who are competiting , please get 2 cans of 100plus.. while for those who are NOT competiting , 1 can is enough for you =D
yah and as usual , 40 mins before ur race , please go and find coach.. he will tell you what to do..

All the talk about the 'B' Division guys how about our 'B' and 'C' Division girls?

HAH so this post is specially dedicated to the girls in Gess canoe sprint team.

To 'B' Division girls:
The responsibility falls on us now, lets continue the tradition and show that we don't need numbers. We only need talent. QUALITY NOT QUANTITY.
I expect all of us to reach the finals and play a part in keeping this tradition!!

To 'C' Division girls:
Make an impact. The C div haven't won since 2001. Your aim: 4th in Nationals ( according to Jazz) I have faith that all of u can make it. Remember DON'T GIVE UP, NO MATTER WHERE YOU STAND IN THE RACE cos anything can happen.

good friday gathering part 2

hey! ok, fourth time(lol)

anyway! the good friday gathering has been confirmed!
tomorrow training STARTS at 1.30pm, but everyone MUST(order by captain) reach mac ritchie by 1pm- no late-comers! training will end around 4.30pm. everyone, go home, shower, freshen up, and meet at HAN RIVER AT 7.30PM.

there is a change of venue because han is cheaper than seoul garden by about $5. but however, it is located at simei (which is near the end of the green line mrt) sorry it's so far-but it was the best we could find. it's a buffet dinner and we already made a reservation for the team (we went there just now ok! then went home damn late) so please, be supportive!

to get theree just take mrt until simei, and outisde the mrt there is the simei shopping centre(forgot what it's called) but come'on- it's so big you CAN'T miss it! go to the fourth floor and walk around, you'll find it sooner or later (remember, it's called HAN RIVER TABLE BARBEQUE)

the price is about $24(including GST and service tax) it's so expensive because it's public holiday, and the price REALLY jack up, so it'll be expensive everywhere anyway(remmber it's buffet!) we already managed to bargain for a 10% discount ok! so that's about $2 off, haha. pro right?

anyway, for those FA students, don't worry. mslim has agreed to sponsor 50% of the price. for those who are not under FA(financial assistance) please don't complain and demand for similar treatment, please spare a thought for others. we're all in this team together, we'll think of each other, ok? if some really really need a subsidise, we could consider using some of the canoe fund (but please don't abuse this priveliage, because you all paid for the canoe fund anyway. and if you abuse it, we won't use the canoe fund at all-this i am serious)

please tell shahril who can and cannot make it, and who the FA students are. please come for this gathering, cos it's an important pre-competition meeting (well, the first and most important the canoe sprint team has ever had) we're a more united team then ever before, please come and bond with the rest, even the sec1s. they're part of our "family" already.

hello! officially my THIRD time posting!

so, here to post about good friday's meeting. it will be a dinner, and training would be pushed foward to meeting at 1.30pm. so please try and come earlier to move the boats. anyway!
the original plan was to meet at seoul garden at 7.30pm, but coach asked us to meet nearer, and since training is pushed backward, the timing will change. so that's really all we have for now, if there are any changes, we'll pass a relay down or something, lol.

anyway! posting about this now is so that ample time is given so that everyone has sufficient time to MAKE THAT DAY FREE as the canoe gathering is COMPULSARY
i mean come'on-
no1. it's our second last training as a team(esp for the sec4)
no2.it's a holiday!
no3.well, can talk and bond with the team, why not? (it's our last chance before the competition too)
no4.we can FINALLY take a group picture! remember this year ~~hell~~ camp? everyone was so shack we forgot to take a group picture, haha.

and since we have (supposingly) more time, PLEASE for the love of clean clothes (lol?)
GO HOME AND TAKE A BATH OR SOMETHING! don't think you'd wanna go eat with everyone still wet and smelly from training, lol. go out together must wear nice nice.
